Since 2010, we’ve been providing the event video production and post-production for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN), with over a dozen events every year, ranging from 100-1,000 attendees, in a half-dozen different cities nationally.

NCSBN is the organization overseeing all the local state boards of nursing, which preside over all nurse licensing, registration, and discipline.  Their mission is to provide education, service, and research through collaborative leadership to promote evidence-based regulatory excellence for patient safety and public protection.

Challenge

In 2010, the Interactive Services (IS) Department of NCSBN was seeking a new vendor that could solve some technical challenges of working with their webcasting service, along with recording the presentations at the same time for editing later. If some NCSBN members were unable to attend the conference, they rely on being able to view the presentations on the organization website for Continuing Education credit.

Solution

After some asking around, they were referred our direction through a mutual colleague, and we met to discuss the challenge.  Through some creative problem-solving, we worked with their internal department heads to find workarounds with some of our existing equipment, and were eventually able to feed video to a live webcast while backup recording it at the same time. 

Result

From that point in 2010, we’ve been recording all of their conference presentations throughout the year, as well as their bi-annual Board of Directors meetings that are live webcast for their members to interact with the board in real-time.
